Spellbinding synthpop storytelling to serenade @ Prompt Creative on Fringe opening weekend

Award-winning synthpop artist Madam Nightingale (Phaedra Gunn) and emerging rapper Cloutie Will (Sarah Dwyer) are set to premiere their collaboration New Beginnings at Prompt Creative Centre opening weekend of Adelaide Fringe.

A gripping musical performance featuring spoken word and interpretive dance, New Beginnings sees Madam Nightingale and Cloutie Will elegantly perform what it means to be human.

Building on ‘Ethereal Experience with Madam Nightingale’ - a show awarded runner up for the Newcastle Fringe Artistic Merit award, this transcendent contemporary rap and 80s influenced synthpop show casts Cloutie Will as a 'fallen woman' seeking a personal path to redemption.

Cloutie Will calls on Madam Nightingale - her personal goddess of song – to guide her spiritual rebirth via the joy of art.

“Collaborating with Sarah to bring her character Cloutie Will to life was an amazing experience, crucially informed by Sarah’s lived experience of the mental health industry as both a patient and a peer worker.  The dual-character story-arc provides a universally relatable ‘rags to riches’ emotional experience,” Phaedra says.

New Beginnings will feature Madam Nightingale’s debut single ‘Dance With Me’ which took out top spot in RSOM's (Real Songwriters of Melbourne) Top Five Songs of the Year.

The show includes the first live performances of Cloutie Will’s current releases ‘Hungry Ghost’ and ‘Getting Kinda Freaky’ with beats by producer Flip That Groove, making this show a must-see for pop music aficionados.
